Presidency Pledges Support to Health Sector

Khartoum-The Presidency has pledged support to the health sector to facilitate provision of services to the citizens all over the country.
Presidential Assistant Maj. Gen. Abdel-Rahman Al Sadik Al Mahdi has lauded efforts by the National Medicines and Poisons Board on electronic archiving of files pertinent to medicines and medical supplies a matter that contributes to boosting performance in extending services to beneficiaries, indicating that the process have covered more than 8231 files.
Addressing the launching ceremony of electronic gate of the National Medicines and Poisons Board on importation of medicines, Al Mahdi said the gate copes with the strategic plan of the state of electronic government.
Federal Minister of Health Bahr Idriss Abu-Garda, on his part, has affirmed that the issue of medicines in Sudan needs great efforts for the wide area of the country, pointing out that branches for the National Medicines and Poisons Board would be set up in the various states of the country.
Secretary General of the Board Zainalabdin Abbas, on his part, pointed out that some 660 types of medicines have been registered in the past period, affirming updating of the regulations organizing medicinal work in the country.
