Cotton and Sesame Revenues to Hit US$1 Billion

Khartoum – (smc) Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry revealed expansion in crops for exportation expecting that the revenues of cotton and sesame crops this year will hit one billion US Dollars.
State Minister at the Ministry of Agriculture, Eng. Al-Sadiq Fadlallah told (smc) that they will expand in the plantation of cotton, sesame and groundnuts, pointing out to the cultivation of 380 thousand acres of cotton this year compared to 111 thousand acres in 2016, expecting that its revenue will hit US$600 million besides sesame crop with expected US$800 million.
Fadlallah pointed out to the success of the agricultural season and achieving productivity of average 60 sacks for groundnuts and 22 sacks for sorghum.
