Khartoum- First Vice President of the Republic First Lt. General Bakri Hassan Saleh has renewed the state commitment to executing the national dialogue’s outcomes. He
noted that the economic measures adopted by the government during the past few days are one of the recommendations put forward by the national dialogue.
He said while addressing an investment conference for Sennar state held at the Friendship Hall in Khartoum yesterday said the recent measures of concerning Sudanese pound exchange rate, lifting subsidy from fuels and increasing electricity tariff is a start of implementing the outcomes of the national dialogue from top downwards to the ground.
He noted that investment and development go together and they require the development of infrastructures stressing that Sennar state and its historic heritage, strategic location and vast lands , endowed with water and natural resources is capable of returning to its former state as it is bracing to become the capital of Islamic Culture next year.
He hailed the considerable efforts exerted for making the operation of investment and development in the state a success. He noted this conference deserves sponsorship as Sennar has elements and components that make it a leading state in investment movement and agricultural produce.
Saleh affirmed working towards restoring El-Suki Project to its former state while Al-Noraneya airport will be accorded attention by the state.
The first Vice president has witnessed the signing implementing a number of development and investment projects in Sennar.
The Minister of Investment Dr. Mudathir Abdulghani announced that the volume of foreign investments in the country has mounted one billion and 800 million US Dollars during the past six months.
He said while addressing the inaugural session of the said conference that the Ministry has worked on setting investment friendly environment and prepared ready projects in the services, agricultural and industrial sectors.
