Arrangements for Introduction of US Medicine for Treatment of Hepatitis C Disease

Khartoum - (Haffiya Elyas) Director of the International Health Foundation, Dr. Yassir Ibrahim, has said that arrangements are being made for introduction of a new US medicine for treating hepatitis c disease.
Addressing a workshop entitled “new hope for curing hepatitis c disease,” yesterday, Dr. Ibrahim affirmed that procedures for registration of the new medicine have begun by an Egyptian company, noting that the success rate of the drug reaches nearly 100%.
He said the foundation is intensifying awareness programs on the disease for its early detection, saying that they are planning to form partnerships with the concerned bodies in this connection for combating the disease.
Representative of the Egyptian medicines company, Dr. Amru Gasim, on his part, said over a million persons have been treated by the new drug in Egypt.
