Arab Parliament Calls for Lifting Economic Sanctions on Sudan

Khartoum - President of the Arab Parliament, Dr. Meshaal bin Fahm Al-Salami renewed the parliament's demand for a full lifting of the economic sanctions imposed by the United States of America unilaterally on the State of Sudan, following the decision by the US administration to extend it for three months, despite Sudan’s fulfillment of its agreed commitments within the framework of the bilateral dialogue between the two sides.
The speaker of the Arab Parliament said, in a statement, that he had sent a letter in May to the speaker of the US House of Representatives, demanding the lifting of the name of the State of Sudan from the list of countries sponsoring terrorism and the lifting of the economic sanctions imposed on it, due to Sudan’s efforts in fighting against terrorism and the achievement of security and peace in Arab and Islamic world and Africa.
