A Number of US Companies Seek Investments in Sudan

Khartoum- State Minister at the Ministry of Investment Osama Faisal Alsayed has announced that American companies are continuing their visits to Sudan seeking investment opportunities in the fields of minerals, oil, agriculture and animal resources.
He said in a statement to Sudan News Agency that some US companies had earlier sought an exemption from US OFAC office to enter into investments in Sudan.
The State Minister affirmed that priorities of the investment projects are represented in food security, minerals and oil, adding that the ministry is giving priority for investments in the industrial field to medicines and other industries as well as the services sector.
He pointed out that the Investment Act is currently under study to add more incentives and preferential advantages for investors, adding that it would be presented to the businessmen, the private sector and the investors to benefit from their experiences.
The State Minister, further, affirmed coordination between the center and the sates concerning investments and licenses.
He stressed that the Ministry of Investment is keen on supporting the private sector and maintaining coordination between it and the local and external institutions.
